A Busy Weekend

Last weekend was super busy- and I wouldn't have it any other way!  We went riding in the Beaver/ Bear Lake area.  Kile's brother, Curtis invited us to go.  There were 12 four wheelers and our Rhino, so it was a big group.  We rode to the spot where a plane had crashed back in 1953.  It was a military plane, returning from the Korean War.  The plane went down and there were no survivors.  There is a monument there with all the names of those who died, and a description of what happened.  From there, our group headed to a trail that led to 2 ponds that were pretty neat.  I chose not to take my camera this day and I wish I would have.  After a day of riding, we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with Kile's dad.

The next thing we did, was a day at Lagoon.  This is not the best picture- it was getting dark and all we had was the cell phone to take a picture.  I thought this was a way cute picture of the kids though.

This is a creepy picture of Destrie-I don't really like it, but everyone insisted I put it on the blog.
We had never been to Frightmares before and it was a lot of fun!

From Our Garden

On Saturday, we spent several hours harvesting from our garden. We have a ton of pumpkins...

My favorite Indian Corn.

We dug up about 75 lbs. of red potatoes...Does anybody want some? We will share.

And we have hoards of gourds. I will be giving each of the preschool kids a gourd when it's letter Gg week at preschool. Gg is for Gourd!

And more Indian Corn.

We also grew about 12 watermelon, but I don't have any pictures of those.

My Favorite New Quote

The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache.-Majorie Pay Hinckley

Blackfoot Fair

Last weekend, we went to the Blackfoot Fair with Kile's dad.

We had some chocolate covered bacon.
Destrie rode a mechanical bull! It was so much fun to watch him. He was super cute.

When he got off the bull he said, "Riding that bull sure made me hungry." How cute is that? He's such a tough little dude.

Destrie at the horse races.

At the horse races, we got to see Indian Relay Races. Indians rode their horses bareback. When they switched horses, the would practically jump-from one horse to the next without even touching the ground. It was very exciting to watch.

Destrie's New School

Last week, we took Destrie to the Back to School Open House at his new school. After doing preschool three times with me at my preschool, he is now headed to a new preschool. We are so excited that he is going there. I taught at this preschool several years ago and Kiley and Madee both went to preschool there also.

He had so much fun at the open house and was super excited for his first day.

Here he is on his first day of school. I am going to miss having him with me at preschool. He will be back in time from his school to come out and help me get my preschool kids lined up and ready to go home. He is excited because he will get to help out by being the "door guy"-the guy at the back of the line who closes the door.

Gilgal Gardens

A blog I read, posted about a garden in Salt Lake that I had never heard of. I loved her pictures and thought this would be an awesome place to take my family. Thanks to KyAnn for a heads up about this awesome place! If you're in Salt Lake, I highly recommend you check this place out- it's pretty cool. Pick up a brochure at the front gate-all the sculptures are explained in detail.
