Chariot Races

On Saturday, we went to the Chariot Races with Kile's dad.  Kile's uncle and cousins have horses that they race.  It was dang cold but a lot of fun.

After the races, we stopped at Big J's for cheese fries and a strawberry cheesecake shake.  Yum!

Newspaper, Roses, and Dresses

A few weeks ago, Kiley asked a boy to the "Sweethearts" Dance.  Thanks to all of you who donated newspapers for the cause.

He answered her with a dozen roses.

We spent 5 hours looking for the perfect dress.  This is NOT the dress she chose, although it is pretty dang cute. Her friend Ashley, did end up getting the red dress.

Kiley and Emmy had other favorites that they picked.  Stay tuned for pictures of the actual  dress- she won't let me post them until after the dance.  I will tell you it is a fabulous dress and after trying on 12 others-we are pretty sure that it's "The One".

It's Official...

I am not a fan of winter.  I despise being cold.  I get really grumpy when days and days pass and I haven't seen the sun.  I have tried really hard this year to be positive and get through these long winter months without developing a case of the winter blahs...but alas, it has happened and I am not thrilled about it.  I am continuing to run everyday and I think that helps a little bit, but I am seriously just getting bored.  When it is summer, we have a thousand activities that our family loves to do-winter not so much.  So, I am wondering...what do the rest of you out there do keep the winter blahs away?
