Madee's 11th Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Madee's 11th birthday. Her choice for her birthday dinner was, Takara Sushi restaurant. The food was awesome. Everyone loved it.

We had a family birthday party the day before her birthday.

Madee just wanted money for her birthday this year, so we gave her money and her and Kiley went shopping on her birthday. They had a blast at the mall. Madee bought herself a pair of black pumps, 2 new shirts, and a Nintendo ds game. She came home with 43 dollars left, so another shopping trip will be in the works!!! Her friends came over for a sleepover the night of her birthday also.

We hope you had a great day Madee! You are a beautiful girl and we love you!!!

Week #3

Following is our upcoming week of summer fun:

June 23-25
Tuesday: Reading Day
Wednesday: Cemetery Tour
Thursday: Tanning Day

*On reading day we will take turns reading with Destrie along with having free time to read our own books. I am really looking forward to this day. I can't remember the last time I got to just kick back and read a book.

*Okay, I realize that visiting several cemeteries may seem like an odd thing to do so let me explain. I like the quiet and peacefulness at the Cemetery, also it is kind of interesting to read the different headstones and learn a little bit about peoples lives. I like to walk at the Cemetery in our town and I have come across some interesting headstones- I found one once that had a recipe for soda cracker pie written on the back!!! My husband may call weird and think I am creepy, but its really not that unusual thing to do.

*Tanning day- I soooo need this! I am hoping for no rain on this day so I can soak up the sun!!!

These are some spring pictures that I took of the kids. I may be a tad biased, but I am pretty sure these are the cutest kids I have ever seen!

Week #2 of Summer Fun

Our summer is of to a great start! Now if the weather would just cooperate...
This week's boredom busters:

June 16th - 18th
Tuesday: Park Hopping
Wednesday: Home Pedicures and Manicures
Thursday: Willow Park Picnic

* Park hopping is:
1) go to the park 2) play for a desired amount of time (usually 10 -15 minutes)
3) go to another park 4)repeat until you are all "parked" out!!!

We usually visit all the parks/playgrounds in Smithfield. If we want to do more, we head to Hyde Park and then North Logan.

Summer Traditions

For the past several years, we have made a "list" as soon as school gets out. This list has two parts. The first part of the list consists of one fun thing that each family member would like to do during the summer and the second part of the list is little "during the day" activities to keep the keep kids from getting bored. Monday is always cleaning and yard work day and Friday we leave open for just whatever, because Kile is off work that day. Following is a look at our list...

Family Fun List

Kile: Antelope Island
Jen: 2 day road trip through Utah
Kiley: Scary Movies & Logan Cemetery/Weeping Woman
Madison: Camping
Destrie: Fishing

Day Activites for the week of June 9-11th

Tuesday: Trip to Borders Book Store
Wednesday: Shopping in Layton
Thursday: Movie and Pajama Day

Dirt #2

Anyone who knows us knows that we are not into planting things. In the 18 years we have been married we have never planted a garden. We could have, but we chose not to. This year however, we planted a garden. Technically this is Kile's dad's garden- it just happens to be at our house and he told us we were going to do it. Try and figure that out!!
Anyway, my second thought about dirt... 2) dirt is good for growing things- at least I hope that
will be the case! This summer will be filled with watering, weeding, and working in the dirt. The girls are so thrilled to be a part of this project!!! JK
