Cactus Garden

We visited a Cactus Garden that was decorated really cute for Christmas. This is a must a see if you are in Henderson, Nevada during December.

Skechers

Destrie just said the FUNNIEST thing. He came up to my mom and said,
"Will you put on my Skechers," he paused and then said, "The shoes that breathe!"
WOW that is some good advertising if a 3 year old knows your commercial catch phrase!

Vegas Vacation Part 3

Here are a few more pictures from the Vegas trip. We felt like we spent the most time at Caesars Palace-this is where our shuttle from the condo. dropped us off and picked us up. So, with Caesar's as our starting point-we would walk and walk and walk to where we were going. I love the Eiffel Tower lit up at night. The Sphinx building is also a favorite- it just looks cool. I also like the Excaliber- here we are outside the castle. MGM has a cool lion exhibit. It was fun to be underneath the lions and watch them walking around.

Boys!!!

I am learning a lot lately what it is like to raise a boy. Destrie is the cutest little man ever and I love him so much. I am finding out though that he is so much different than the girls.
For example- Yesterday Sarah was here to pick up Alec from preschool. Me and Destrie were on the porch and Destrie yells "Hey Sarah, You're a poop stick!" It was pretty funny! Sarah didn't miss a beat and called him a silly name back. (a nice one) I have no idea what made him do that. He thought he was pretty funny. I'm sure this is one of many adeventures we are going to have with Destrie. This made me remember something that Destrie did when he was about 18 months old-We were in church and the sacrament was being passed. Destrie was sitting on my lap and he was drinking the water from his cup. He had drank about half of it and then with no warning whatsoever, he threw the half full cup forward, hitting Sister Gittens in the back of the head! I could have died. Boys-you just have to love them!!!!

Vegas Vacation Part 2

Another thing we did on our trip was go to Circus Circus. We played some games and won a prize for Madee and Destrie. We also watched a show while we were there. The African Acrobats performed and it was truly amazing. Those guys would do flips and then just "stick" to each other to form a tower! It was cool. Destrie was most excited about the drummer guy who played the music for the performance. He wanted to play the guy's drums and was pretty mad that we wouldn't let him.
We also went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. If you go to this, plan to wait in a fairly long line and spend about 17$ per person. It was really cool though and worth the wait and the money. Madee is so brave. She touched a sting ray! She was the only one of us who dared to do it.

Vegas Vacation Part 1

This year I talked my family into taking a vacation for Christmas. We spent less on presents and used the saved $ for the trip. On Christmas, we saw our presents from Santa and then cleaned up and headed out. We got to Vegas about 9:00p.m. that night. Even in Vegas a lot of places were closed, but we finally found a Denny's and that is where we had dinner. The next day we headed out to show our kids the Las Vegas Strip. The Bellagio was decorated for Christmas and it was very pretty. If you are ever in Vegas during Christmas time, there is a decorated garden at the Bellagio in the Conservatory that is a must see and it is free! My favorite picuter from this trip was taken at the Bellagio- the one with my family by the big nutcracker. We went to the M&M store and watched a cute 3D movie. Then, on to the Coca Cola Store. We sampled 16 varieties of Coke from around the world. Some were good and some not so much. It was fun. Destrie was very tired at this point in the day as you can see in the picture! We also had dinner at the Rain Forrest Cafe. It has a great fun atmoshpere and the kids enjoyed it.

We're Back!

Our Christmas vacation was a lot of fun. It was really hard coming back to all this snow :(
Anyway, things are crazy now as we try to get back to our regular routine. Pictures and vacation details will be coming soon.
