Love @ the Dam

So, on Friday, Jen, Destrie and I went to First Dam to feed the ducks. While we were feeding them, we heard a strange noise coming from some of the bushes that were by us. So after investigating, we found an interesting situation. Pulling back the bushes we found a rooster chicken canoodling with a female duck. You can see the white duck in the grass.

That explained the noises. After that we saw that they appeared to have reproduced. I didn't even know that was possible. I actually never thought about it. My farm experience didn't involve chickens or ducks. I guess if the parts are there and the correct physics are applied... Why not? Anyway, here is the proof...

It's hard to see, but there is one other (smaller?) egg under the feather on the right. The egg on the left looked like a duck egg and the other looked like a chicken egg. I would be interested to see when these babies hatch what they are going to look like.

Ok now you are going to have to go back and finish the story! How long does it take for eggs to hatch? Very interesting stuff!
