Shrek

We went to see Shrek on Friday when it came out. We have always been Shrek fans at our house. I really liked this movie. There were 3 things in this movie that really related to me.

#1 Shrek was pretty high strung and uptight about almost everything in his life at the start of the movie...that's exactly how I have been feeling lately.

#2 "On Top of the World" by the Carpenters was in the movie. You probably didn't know this about me, being the 80's rocker that I am, but I LOVE the Carpenters. It takes me back, to being 8 years old, in Grandma's basement listening to an 8 track of Carpenters songs...ahhh the good old days.

#3 Another song that I like, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benetar was in this movie. I got to "perform" to that song when I was in the 4rth grade. I still remember the dance and when we hear the song, I do the dance for my kids!!

It's a good movie, one I will be adding to my DVD collection.

Oh, and one more thing,
We are currently in the process of collecting all the Shrek toys from McDonalds.

Once again....Dirt

Last year, I posted how much Destrie loved playing on the dirt hill in our yard. Long story short, it's a year later, we have another dirt hill and nothing has changed, he still loves to play in the dirt.


Yesterday, we were outside planting the garden and Destrie got this "great" idea, that someone should cover him up with dirt. Madee thought that this was a good idea and proceeded to do just that. Me, being the "free thinking" mom that I am, let them do it. It was pretty funny to watch. After all, little boys are supposed to get dirty...right?

St. George- Day #3

We went riding on the "Honeymoon Trail on Day #3. This was a trail that the pioneers traveled on to go from Arizona to St. George to be married in the temple.


Then we went back to Sand Hollow, because riding in the sand was our favorite. We did some rock climbing while we were there.

St. George- Day #2

We went to Jumpin' Jack's while we were in St. George. Destrie had so much fun and I think Kiley and Madee liked it a little bit too.


***On a side note, we went out for breakfast on day #2. Our friends introduced us to the "Bear Paw" restaurant in St. George. They serve the best breakfast. We had something called "home fries" that were delightful! They are potato slices that are seasoned to perfection. Yum, sooo good. I am on a mission to figure out this recipe and when I do, it will be appearing on my recipe blog.

Ahh... the good life

There's nothing better after a day of riding 4 wheelers than laying bed, in your underwear with a bucket of cheese balls.
