Weekend Road Trip

A few weeks ago, we went with some friends on a weekend motorcycle trip. We visited Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, and Teton Village.

This is the cabin that we stayed in. It was in Victor, Idaho. It was super nice. There was a bedroom and a bathroom for each of the 4 couples. We had a drawing to see who got that master suite...and Kile and I got it! Lucky us!

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day Weekend, we had a ton of fun things planned. It didn't really turn out the way we expected...
Saturday, we headed to Brigham and had dinner at Maddox. After that, we headed across the street to the fruit stand to pick up some peaches and some tomatoes-we are going to make salsa! Anyway, after that we headed to Ogden, to the Raptors game. Upon arriving at the game, we were informed the game had been cancelled due to rain and wind. (As we are standing there, the weather is fine.) I know it had been windy and rainy, but it had pretty much stopped at this point. Great...we drove all this way, now what?

We head over to the Salomon Center and watched a guy who was "flying" at I Fly. Next we played mini golf and some video games at Fat Cats. After that, we stopped at a cupcake shop and the kids got cupcakes. An ok night, I guess but missing the baseball game was a bummer. We dropped Destrie off in Clarkston to sleep out in the tent with Eric and Kate and we head home...excited for tomorrow's adventure.

We head out again, and this time we are headed to Blackfoot, Idaho for the fair and horse races. We get there, go to buy our tickets for the races, and they tell us that races have been cancelled due to rain yesterday that messed up the track....Damn the bad luck!!!

Destrie and Madee did get to ride the mechanical bull though, so it wasn't a total loss.

After that, we walked around and checked out all the sites...

Oh, and then I had a crown break off while I was eating some fudge....good times.

And that was our disappointing Labor Day Weekend.
Oh wait...we did go to a cookout in Clarkston on Monday that actually turned out good.

At the Movies

On Saturday, we took the family to see the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie...Dog Days. It was funny! We all really liked it!

Destrie read the first four books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series this summer...so he was really excited to finally get to see the movie. He even wore his "diary" shirt for the occasion.

So far this Summer....

Madee and I went to Girl's Camp @ Cinnamon Creek...sorry no pictures. While we were there, Kiley and her friends were in Arizona @ a One Direction concert. WooHoo!!

Kile and I ran Ragnar. It was the year of the mustaches.

While we were running, Madee had a little mishap with her toe and Kiley had to take her to the emergency room.

I am going to let Madee tell the story of what happened....

Okay so I was playing night games with my friends and they had these huge rocks in their yard. I was running and ran right into one really hard. I took off my shoe and I didn't think it was that bad... I just thought I needed a bandaid and I would be fine... My friend's mom said I should probably get it looked at, so Kiley took me to the hospital. I had a fractured toe and had to get stitches because the cut was so deep. But honestly, the worst part was getting the shot to make my toe numb, not a fun night. :( And, I ended up loosing my toe nail.

Want to know what else happened while we were running?? This....

The neighbor's tree decided to break in half and fall on our building.

Wow...we leave for 2 days and all Hell breaks loose. We are still in the process of filing a claim to get this fixed. Will keep you posted on how that goes.

Madee turned 14 years old and finally got the I-pod touch she had been wanting FOREVER!
